Christmas Tree Recycling by Scouts BSA Troop 611

For over 30 years, the Scouts of Troop 611 have proudly served the Happy Valley and Clackamas communities by recycling natural Christmas trees (no flocked trees, please).
 

Recycling Schedule & Drop-off Location

    • Hours: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Schedule a Pickup

We make recycling easy! Choose your option:

  • Best Option: Click the green button to schedule curbside pickup using our online form.

  • Email Option: Send your pickup date, address, and phone number to bsa611or@gmail.com.

  • Drop-off Option: Bring your tree or wreath directly to our CVS Pharmacy location (122nd and Sunnyside Road) during recycling hours.

 

Suggested Donation

  • Trees up to 8 feet: $10

  • Wreaths: $8

  • Larger trees: Additional donations appreciated

How to Donate:

  • Best Option: Click the “Donate” button (PayPal link) on this page.

  • Or, attach your donation to the tree in a ziplock bag (cash or check payable to “BSA Troop 611”).
     

Quick Steps to Recycle

  1. Schedule your pickup or plan your drop-off.

  2. Make your donation online or attach it to your tree.

  3. Place your tree at the curb by 9 a.m. on your chosen date, or drop it off at CVS during recycling hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When should I place my tree curbside?
A:

  • Place it curbside by 8 a.m. on your scheduled pickup day.

  • Write “Troop 611” on a note and attach to the tree.

  • If you haven’t donated electronically: Place your donation (cash or check) in a plastic bag and securely tie it to the tree.

  • Scouts start picking up trees at 9 a.m.
     

Q: We forgot to schedule the pickup. Is it too late?
A:

  • Same-day or requests after 5 p.m. the night before are not guaranteed.

  • If you’re late, put your tree at the curb anyway—crews often pick up extra trees.

  • It’s never too late—unless it’s after 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2025. Then, try again next year.

Q: What is the suggested donation?
A:

  • Trees (up to 8’): $10

  • Larger trees or multiple trees: Additional donations appreciated

  • No! Collection days are December 28, January 3, 4, and 10.

  • No, we cannot pick up flocked trees—they can’t be recycled.
